Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Restaurant Manager will undertake duties including, but not limited to

Operational Management

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate the overall operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient and profitable service
  • Oversee daily front-of-house activities including seating arrangements, reservations, and service flow
  • Monitor service quality to ensure high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff including servers, hosts, and other front-of-house employees
  • Prepare staff schedules and manage shift rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Provide leadership and ongoing training to maintain service standards and team performance

Customer Service

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times
  • Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a welcoming dining environment that reflects the restaurant’s brand and reputation

Financial and Administrative Duties

  • Manage budgets, monitor revenue, and control operational costs
  • Oversee cash handling, billing procedures, and financial reporting
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of food, beverages, and supplies

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and operational standards in line with legal requirements
  • Ensure all staff follow food safety and workplace safety procedures

Business Development

  • Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase customer traffic
  • Analyse customer feedback and operational performance to improve service and profitability
  • Maintain supplier relationships and coordinate procurement activities

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a restaurant management or hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage budgets, stock control, and operational costs
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and restaurant compliance standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment and manage multiple responsibilities

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £41,700 per year
  • Staff meals during shifts
  • Paid annual leave in accordance with UK employment law

Qualifications

  • Relevant hospitality or business management qualification preferred
    or
  • Significant equivalent professional experience in restaurant or hospitality management

Working Hours

  • Minimum 39 hours per week
  • Working hours may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays depending on operational requirements
